Thanks Obama

Dear Obama,

It might not be relevant the fact that a 17 year-old lady from Venezuela just wrote and posted a letter for you on tumblr, but I find it at least a way to communicate my position with your ABC interview (the one you just had hours ago).

I just want equality of rights for world citizens, and the step you made was fundamental for the ones to come. Society should know how its static part has changed, in order to turn itself from misunderstood to (actually) smart.

It may be a political strategy (if you do research you will certainly know how same-sex marriage acceptance has grow in the last years, and it would be a way to gain some points on charts (no doubt of that)). Since you just got 6 months until elections, I’d say it was a risky decision, and more than that, it was brave. I appreciate and respect when politicians (the real ones) stick their heads into “uncomfortable truths” in order to make better things in our world. They tend to make “glocal” decisions, decisions that are build taking in consideration our own reality in order to have effective results worldwide.

to resume things:
I would love to see my gay friends getting married, I would love their rights to be accepted, and I would love the world to accept reality the way you did today.

we care a lot about the circumstances, or the bad definition of circumstances. We care a lot about our rights, and we don’t even care about the others. We consider the unequal treatment of ”equals” as discrimination, but we don’t even consider unequal treatment of “unequals” in consideration. I am ashamed of the world, but i’m hopeful thanks to actions like yours and others. World citizens: equality is the solution of society blindness.

something I recorded drunk weeks ago.

Lyrics:
Did I, did I, did I tell you what I like to do?
Did I, did I, did I tell you things I don’t?

I would like to go on a backpacking trip to the sun,
and I would like Cortázar take me home,
we might have a wonderfull dinner then a walk,
and we would watch the sunset across the world.

Did I, did I, did I tell you what I like to do?
And I did, I did tell you, things I don’t
